Exactly 53 Years Old Blackness

“Paint it Black” by The Rolling Stones was released as a single on 6th May, 1966. A whole life ago… But the song was made to last some lives more –or so I hope–. When I listen to it before or after “I Got the Blues”, which is five years less old (but not at all less sad), I do feel the whole black picture of it all.

It’s been black indeed. Black as coal.

… But I hear the song says, at one point: “If I look hard enough into the settin’ sun, my love will laugh with me before the mornin’ comes” … Surely a nightly, truly black love !

  1. Astonishing to think this song is just short of a year older than myself. I think it’s the first time I’ve actually listened to it, and recognized the sitar and Indian influences to it – makes me wonder if it’s for a lost love, or for Kali.

Sending you all the love and light, so that you can feel the colors again, my Sister!

    1. I think it was a song born from a huge hangover of narcotics. But it feels spot on in many ways. Like you, I had not rightly listened to it until a few days ago, and then I thought I do not just like it; but that it’s quite my song or one very near right now, when all looks black and crappy.
I send you all the love and coloured light I am lacking, like you. A BIG KISS !!

      1. I was 10 years old when this came out. We were almost to the moon yet buried in Vietnam. I was buried in my personal problems.

It was another 5 years before I’d heat it on the radio and a couple more before I’d understand it.

        1. Oh… Vietnam was not a joke for anybody; I do hope you did not go there. BTW I was -8 years old, back when this song came out. Thanks for your comment !

            1. Not much, at nearly 45 :/ But this is unstoppable… and anyway I truly feel a youngster inside. I hope to reach 63 feeling still this young, like you 🙂

                1. I agree with you. Nudism feels good. Anyway I enjoy even more dressing to look more naked –or at least, more attractive– than actually nude 🙂 For instance: socks and a bra; a thong and a chocker; flat sandals, cheeky shorties and a cropped T-shirt; loafers, a blouse and a head band… For men it’s different, anyway, and full nudism, or full dressing looks best to my eyes.

                  1. If your intent is to catch the eye – nothing wrong with that! 🙂 That outfit would certainly catch MY eye.

For me, It is more about freedom and acceptance. Toss in some pleasure for the feel of the sun and air on my skin. Hell, I’d settle for begrudging tolerance. Just let me be me and I promise I won’t dictate anyone else’s fashion choices.

I’m not really a nudist or a naturist. I’m just an opportunistic nudie.

                    1. Those described were four different outfits ! 🙂 , two of them well in the nudist line, and in fact I use to go quite undressed at home. I feel it as well about freedom, but mostly comfort. As for hiking naked, I do it around my place (I live in the country), but not strictly, as I use sneakers and a belt to hold a knife, a bottle of water, a long shirt to put on when I detect other persons nearby and other things I need.
